AUGUSTA, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team completed the 3M Jaguar Augusta Invitational Saturday, March 12, in Augusta, Ga. The Eagles went through a pair of rounds on Saturday, finishing 14th as a team, while junior Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) shot a team best three round score of 216 (70-71-75) which was good for ninth.
Murphy fired off a 71 and 75 in the second and third rounds on Saturday, while Karyn Lee Ping (Brampton, Ontario-St. Augistine Secondary School) tied for 50th with a 230 after shooting a 74 on day one, while recording a pair of 78's in the final two rounds.Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) finished tied for 61st, while Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) tied at 82nd and Lauren Stephens (Dublin, Ohio-Coffman) finished the invite in the 84th spot with a 242.
The Eagles return to the course Monday, March 28-29, when they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to take part in the Kingsmill Intercollegiate. The Kingsmill will take place at the Kingsmill Resort-River Course.
