INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) -
Days after being named the Mid-American Conference's Outstanding Swimmer and just hours after reeling in his second MAC Scholar Athlete award of the season, senior swimmer Andrew Henry's (Garner, N.C.-West Johnston) final season with the Green and White was extended. The Eagles captain made the short list of swimmers selected to compete at the NCAA Championships, which was announced Wednesday, March 9.

Henry is coming off of a sensational performance at the MAC Championships, March 2-5, in which the Garner, N.C. product claimed two individual titles while also swimming a leg of Eastern Michigan's two first-place relays, while also playing a pivitol role in EMU winning its 33rd conference title. Earning invites in the 100 and 200 Freestyle, as well as the 200 Individual Medley, Henry will compete in the 200 Free. One of just two swimmers from the MAC selected to compete in the NCAA Championships, Henry enters the 200 Free with the 20th-seeded time. Leading off EMU's record breaking 800 Free Relay at last week's conference championships, Henry clocked a leg of 1:34.20 to earn a lane in Atlanta. His scorching time broke his own school record in addition to ranking atop pool, meet, and conference laurels.

Henry will gear up for his final race donning the Green and White over the next few weeks before jetting down to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the national championships, March 24-26.
