The Eagles look for their eighth consecutive MAC dual victory
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Coming off a convincing win in its Mid-American Conference dual opener, the Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team returns to Jones Natatorium, Saturday, Nov. 5, for a conference clash with the University of Toledo.
The Eagles enter the weekend after a 178-122 win over Ohio, their seventh consecutive MAC dual victory. Senior Alexis Mitcheltree (Moon Twp., Pa.-Moon Area) had an outstanding day, sweeping the 100 and 200 backstroke, while also leading the Green and White to a pair of relay wins. Additionally, Mary Grace Van Allen (Indianapolis, Ind.-North Central) and Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) added two individual wins apiece. Van Allen claimed the top spot in the 200 freestyle and the 200 IM, while Duncan posted first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
This weekend's tilt marks the first time the two squads will meet since EMU topped UT, 197-103, in Toledo, Oct. 24, 2014. Eastern Michigan won 10-of-16 events to defuse the Rockets. Individually, Becca Detro, Carly Jackson (La Porte, Ind.-La Porte), Mary Kate MacLean, Lauren Dark, Monica Dorszewski, Van Allen, Sara Ghaffari, and Clarice Daniel picked up wins.
EMU and Toledo are set to square off in Jones Natatorium at 1 p.m. Live results for the meet can be found on the schedule page at EMUEagles.com or by clicking here, while fans can also follow the #MACtion on the MeetMobile app.
