The Green and White fell in straight sets
DeKALB, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University's volleyball team suffered a three-set loss Friday night, Nov. 4, when the Eagles (8-18, 3-10 MAC) traveled to Northern Illinois University. Eastern saw the Huskies (20-5, 12-1 MAC) sweep with a 25-12, 25-16, 25-19 at the NIU Convocation Center.
Jordan Smith (Solon, Iowa-Solon) led the EMU offense with seven kills, while Ariel Hamby (Oak Park, Ill.-Oak Park River Forest) and Rachel Irbe (Greenfield, Ind.-Greenfield Central) grabbed five kills apiece. Riley Taylor (Indianapolis, Ind.-Perry Meridian) set for the Green and White, grabbing 17 assists, while Alyssa LaFace (Allen Park, Mich.-Allen Park) led the EMU defense with 11 digs.
The Eagles return to action Saturday, Nov. 5, when they travel to Kalamazoo, with Mich. to square off with Western Michigan University. The match is slated for 8 p.m. inside University Arena.
