EMU To Ring In Election Night With Patriotic Helmet Design

EMU will wear its normal white helmet with a patriotic inspired Block E design
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University football program is preparing for a prime time and Election Night football game of historic proportions when the Eagles travel to Ball State University Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Scheumann Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
In the political world, the night will be about red and blue states, but on the field the Eagles will do their best to honor the election of the United States of America's 45th President. Eastern Michigan will wear its white helmet that will be adorned with a patriotic inspired Block E design.
In addition, the nose bumper on the front of the helmet will be the word VOTE with the last letter in vote being the department's primary Block E logo. Completing the look will be a center helmet stripe that lists the last name of each of the previous 44 US Presidents.
The special helmet design is not the only change for EMU, as the radio broadcast will also shift radio affiliates for the night to Cumulus Media Ann Arbor's W4 County (102.9 WWWW-FM). Due to election night coverage, EMU Athletic's tradition flagship station WEMU (89.1 FM) will remain with local and national election results updates.
W4 Country will stream the game on their website, as well as on the iHeartRadio or TuneIn applications on your phone or other steaming device. The station's signal covers all of southeastern Michigan, reaching north of Flint, Mich. and as far south as Toledo, Ohio while also reaching part of Canada.
Nine games into the 2016 season, Eastern Michigan has improved on its 2015 win total by four games, from one win to five. This ties for the lead in the FBS for the largest turnaround from 2015 to 2016 with UCF and Wyoming, who have improved their win total from zero to four and two to six, respectively.
