NEW ORLEANS (EMUEagles.com) -
The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced today, Nov. 1, that the Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team was voted as the No. 25 cross country squad in the nation. Previously, the Eagles were ranked No. 27 at the end of the regular season following their impressive performance at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, Oct. 14.

Eastern currently sits one spot ahead of No. 26 Middle Tennessee, and one spot behind No. 24 Southern Utah. Additionally, the Green and White are the only Mid-American Conference program represented in the poll. With the women remaining ranked in the poll as well, EMU is one of 16 programs to be ranked on both the men's and the women's side.

EMU's rise in the rankings comes on the heels of a dominating victory at the MAC Championships, as the team claimed its 21st conference title overall, and the seventh consecutive. The Eagles led the race from start to finish, sweeping the podium and taking home all top-five spots. For the third year in a row, the Eagles also walked away with the individual title after senior Nick Raymond (Erie, Mich. - Mason) won his second straight.

The Green and White remained strong within the Great Lakes Region, as they were slotted at No. 4 following the conference championships. The Eagles sit behind No. 14 Wisconsin, No. 18 Michigan State, and No. 21 Indiana. Two other MAC schools are represented in the regional rankings, with Miami sitting at No. 11 in the region, while Ohio sits one spot behind at No. 12.

Eastern continues the postseason with the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, which will take place next week, Friday, Nov. 11, in Madison, Wis.
