Men's Golf to Compete at Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team continues the 2016-17 season when they head to Indiana to compete in the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic Tournament, Oct. 9-11, at Warren Golf Course.
The tournament will host 15 teams including: Ball State, Butler, Eastern Michigan, Georgetown, Illinois State, IUPUI, Nevada, Notre Dame, San Diego, Santa Clara, Seattle, Utah State, UTEP, William & Mary, and Xavier.
The course is set up as a par 70, playing at a distance of 6,713 yards. The first round will start on Sunday, Oct. 9, and play through Tuesday, Oct. 11, with the tee times still to be announced.
The last time Eastern competed in this event was in 2013, when the Eagles finished eighth out of 13 teams, shooting 883 (295-300-288) as a team. Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) and Joseph Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Senator O'Connor) both competed in this event in 2013, with Rodes notching a 235 (78-85-72). Kremer played as an individual and finished tied for 51st with a score of 227 (73-77-77) on the par 71 course.
