Raymond Brings Home MAC Runner of the Week Honors

The 2015 MAC Champion received the honor following his season debut

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Mid-American Conference announced today, Oct. 4, that Eastern Michigan University men's cross country senior Nick Raymond (Erie, Mich. - Mason) was named the MAC Runner of the Week for his performance at the Notre Dame Invitational, Sept. 30.

Raymond led the Eagles in their race at the Notre Dame Invite this past weekend, as the Green and White managed to defeat a pair of ranked teams in No. 30 Texas and No. 30 Florida State, in addition to Texas A&M, who was receiving votes in the national poll.

Raymond ran to a 15th-place finish, clocking in at 24:01.9 in his season debut. His time was also a personal-best five-mile mark by nearly 22 seconds. The honor marks the second for the Eagles this season, and the third of Raymond's career.

Raymond and the Eagles will resume action in two weeks, heading to Madison, Wis. for the Wisconsin Invitational, Oct. 14.
