Each week two Eagles will be honored for their success on the field
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Each week, the Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics names the EMU Credit Union's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic media relations department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are cross country runners Nick Raymond and Jordann McDermitt.

Week's Achievements: Raymond successfully defended his MAC Cross Country individual title over the weekend, helping the Eagles to a dominating team victory in Kent, Ohio at the MAC Championships. The Green and White finished with a MAC record 15 points, sweeping the top-five spots on the podium to bring home their seventh straight, and 21st overall, MAC team title. Raymond paced the team, holding a top-three spot throughout the entire race before picking up ground near the end. Ultimately, the Erie, Mich. native clocked in at 25:10.0, which narrowly edged out his three teammates in the second, third, and fourth spots.

Week's Achievements: McDermitt had a spectacular weekend at the MAC Cross Country Championships, helping the Eagles to their second straight, and second overall, MAC team title. McDermitt, who had a strong regular season as well, was the leader for the Eagles throughout most of the race, as she helped the team finish with four harriers within the top-10. Individually, McDermitt clocked in at 20:34.1 to win the team's third straight individual title.
