The Eagles are in search of their seventh consecutive MAC dual win
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team travels to Athens, Ohio this weekend, Oct. 29, for a Mid-American Conference dual against Ohio University. After posting a perfect 5-0 record in MAC duals last season, the Eagles will be in search of their seventh consecutive conference dual win.
Saturday's meeting marks the first time the Eagles and Bobcats will meet since Nov. 1, 2014, when Eastern Michigan topped OU, 195-103, in Ypsilanti. EMU won 9-of-16 events in that matchup behind individual victories by Becca Detro, Carly Jackson (La Porte, Ind.-La Porte), Mary Kate MacLean, Becky Deacon, Monica Dorszewski, and Mary Grace Van Allen (Indianapolis, Ind.-North Central).
The Green and White enter the weekend on the heels of a dominating victory over Denison University, Oct. 22, in its season opener. Sophomore Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) and junior Alli Shereda (Fraser, Mich.-Fraser) picked up two wins apiece, sweeping their respective events. Duncan brought home a clean sweep of the backstroke events, claiming first in both the 100 and 200. Meanwhile, Shereda bested the field on the springboard to take home first-place finishes on the 1 and 3 meter dives.
Action in Athens is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Ohio's Aquatic Center, while live results will be available on the MeetMobile app.
