Burdette Nabs First Career MAC Runner of the Week Honor

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Mid-American Conference announced today, Oct. 25, that No. 27 Eastern Michigan University men's cross country redshirt freshman Colin Burdette (Hilliard, Ohio - Hilliard Davidson) was named the MAC Runner of the Week for his performance at the EMU Fall Classic, Oct. 21.

Burdette had a solid race for the Eagles at the annual 5,000-meter meet, making a strong push at the end to secure his spot. Ultimately, the Hilliard, Ohio native's late surge propelled him to a 25th-place finish after crossing the finish line in 16:07.9. The honor marks the first for Burdette, and the fourth for the Eagles this season.

The Green and White begin the postseason portion of their schedule this weekend with the Mid-American Conference Championships, Oct. 29. Action from Kent, Ohio is slated to begin at 11 a.m. with the women's race, while the men will follow at noon.
