Men's Swimming & Diving Picked to Repeat in MAC Preseason Poll

EMU received four first-place votes
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team was picked to repeat as Mid-American Conference Champions this season, according to the MAC Preseason Poll released by the league office, today, Oct. 18. The Eagles received four first-place votes en route to the top spot.
Buffalo and Missouri State rounded out the top three, receiving one first-place vote apiece. Miami was picked fourth, while Southern Illinois, Ball State, and Evansville rounded out the rankings.
Eastern Michigan has won 70 consecutive MAC duals, dating back to the 1997-98 season, and look to be in position to continue its run in the conference with the return of several key pieces. Last season, the Green and White secured it's 33rd Mid-American Conference Championship under the guidance of MAC Swimming Coach of the Year Peter Linn and MAC Diving Coach of the Year Buck Smith.
The Eagles return to competition this weekend, Oct. 22, at home against Denison. The meet is slated to begin at 1 p.m. at Jones Natatorium.
