Harrison Earns Academic All-MAC Accolades

Daylen Harrison was one of five to make the Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University forward Daylen Harrison (Akron, Ohio-St. Vincent-St. Mary (Wyoming)) was named to the Mid-American Conference's men's basketball Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced Wednesday, April 23.

Harrison, who owns a 3.66 grade point average as a chemistry major appeared in all 37 games during the 2013-14, starting in 27 of them. The senior averaged 5.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. The Akron, Ohio native shot 42.3 percent from the floor, while knocking down 30.2 percent of his three-point opportunities and a team-best 80.4 percent from the charity stripe.

In addition to those numbers, Harrison became the 93rd most prolific scorer in EMU's 117-year history by totaling 504 points in just two years of play for the Green and White. Harrison also ranks 66th on Eastern's all-time rebounding list by pulling down 308 caroms over the last two seasons.

Harrison was instrumental in helping the Eagles to their best season since the 1997-98 campaign. In 2013-14, the Green and White amassed 22 wins, the most since 1996-97, and earned its first postseason berth since that '98 year.
