EMU Hosts First Ever Turn It Up Turn It Green Pep Rally

The Eagles' band, cheer, dance and football teams all congregated at the Convocation Center to fire up fans

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The first-ever Turn It Up, Turn It Green pep rally took place inside the Convocation Center Saturday morning, Oct. 11, as Eastern Michigan University fans prepared for the Eagles' Homecoming football game against Buffalo.
The Eastern Michigan University Marching Band welcomed fans to the event with the fight song as well as other tunes, while the cheer and dance teams led the EMU faithful in rooting on the football team as the Eagles entered the arena.
Vice President/Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Heather Lyke introduced EMU Head Football Coach Chris Creighton, who fired up the crowd with a motivating speech, before senior team captain Lincoln Hansen followed his coach on stage, thanking the fans for their support.
Following the football team's exit, the band gave fans a little taste of its halftime performance, playing songs from the iconic movie The Wizard of Oz.
Multiple EMU athletic teams were in attendance for the event to show their support for the football team, living up to the "Eagles Unite" standard. Another unique aspect of the event was the live bald eagle that took the floor with the team.
