Future Eagle Drafted by Braves in 30th Round of MLB Draft

Sterling Sharp was drafted No. 913 overall

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University baseball team's future student-athlete, Sterling Sharp, was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 30th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year player draft.

Sharp who has the potential to be a power arm for the Eagles in the future, was taken as the 913th selection overall in the draft and was 1-of-16 baseball players from Michigan taken in the 2013 MLB Draft. The North Farmington High School player stands at six-feet, four-inches tall as a right-handed pitcher and looks to have an immediate impact when he arrives in Ypsilanti.

Sharp is 1-of-10 athletes who have signed a National Letter of Intent to play for EMU Head Baseball Coach Jay Alexander in 2014.
