EMU Announces Change in Leadership for Softball Program

National search will be conducted for the program's seventh head coach
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Melody Reifel Werner announced today, May 8, that Karen Baird will not be returning as head softball coach for the Eagles next season.
"After much consideration, we have determined that a change in leadership for our softball program is necessary," Reifel Werner said. "Coach Baird has led this program with character and integrity for the past 11 years and we are grateful for her service to our institution and wish her the best as she pursues her next opportunities."
Baird was 198-287-1 in her career at Eastern Michigan.
A national search will be conducted for the program's seventh head coach.
