YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University Head Football Coach Ron English appeared on Wednesday's College Sports Nation (Sirius XM Channel 91) to motivate further the fans and friends of Eastern Michigan University to participate in the Time To FLY campaign. Hosted by Chris Childers and Coach Houston Nutt, English discussed the rise of the Mid-American Conference and his current locker room project.

Time To FLY is a fundraising campaign that rewards donors with perks and one-of-a-kind experiences in exchange for their contribution.  If the goal of $60,000 is raised, Coach English is going to skydive, and each donor has the chance to join him. One special fan will have the opportunity to ride from Ypsilanti to Skydive Tecumseh with Coach English, spend the day with him, and eventually ride in the plane and skydive with him.

“I'm excited to be a part of something that's never been done before on this level and, at the same time, offer some memorable and once-in-a-lifetime experiences to some of our most dedicated and enthusiastic fans,” said English.

For fans who may not be so eager to jump out of a plane, there are a host of other benefits and opportunities than any Eagle fan would love. Examples include involvement in the Fan Tunnel at football games, passes to the Eagle Gridiron Group tent, entries into the 2013 EMUFB Golf Outing, and dinner with Coach English at the Chop House in Ann Arbor.

This campaign attempts to raise the funds needed to finish the facility projects initiated by Coach English, which already consist of a new indoor practice facility, an updated outdoor facility, an upgraded team room, and a revamped locker room. Still more to be done, fundraising efforts from the campaign will go to improve the player and coach locker rooms, the player's lounge, the team building and training room, the coaches' offices, and the equipment room.

Coach English has not been alone in his efforts to create great experiences for EMU fans, as a few assistant coaches have offered to skydive with a few lucky fans if their $30,000 goal is met. Tom Burpee, Mike Hart, Ryan Oshnock and Blair Wagner have all agreed to jump if they reach their goal.
