EMU Golfer Played for Mullingar Scratch Trophy

The Mullingar Scratch Trophy was first played in 1963
MULLINGAR, Ireland. (EMUEagles.com)—Eastern Michigan University men's golfer Stuart Grehan (Tullamore, Ireland-Colaiste Choilm) tied for sixth place at the Mullingar Scratch Trophy, May 18-19. After 72 holes, Grehan finished with a 288 (72-73-68-75).
The Mullingar Scratch Trophy was first played in 1963, and has attracted many top Irish golfers. The competition is ranked among the Europe's top amateur events and is one of the most distinguished events outside of the championships.
In his freshman year at EMU, Grehan had a season low of 69 at the Detroit Golf Club Invitational (April, 12) and finished in the top 10 in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate Tournament, March 10-12, where he tied for ninth (70-76-76=222).
