Eagles to Play First Home MAC Match

Live Scoring.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -
The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team (6-10, 1-1 MAC) will host the Rockets from the University of Toledo (6-9, 0-2 MAC)  weather permitting at the Claudia Wasik Tennis Complex Saturday, March 30. If needed play will be moved back inside to the Chippewa Club. Play will commence at 1 p.m.

The match will be the first Mid-American Conference competition hosted by the Eagles this season.

The Eagles are fresh off of a comeback victory over Bowling Green University in which coach Ryan Ray said his team “showed a lot of fight.”  The Rockets will be looking to bounce back after dropping to Western Michigan University, 2-5.

Last season in Toledo, when these teams most recently took the courts against each other, the Green and White beat their hosts 4-3. The No. 1 doubles team of Miriam Westerink and Nino Mebuke won a close 9-8 decision over Toledo's Kelsey Anonsen and Lexy Pitt.  The No. 2 doubles duo of Mariya Toncheva and Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr handed Toledo's Chrissy Coffman and Pia Rygh an 8-3 setback and the EMU No. 3 team of Daphne Friedrichs and Marcela Rivero handled Alexandra Cristello and Amanda Border, 8-3.

The Eagles hold a commanding edge over the Rockets all-time, leading the series 26-7.
