Junior earns her first-career weekly conference accolade
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University junior Zsofia Biro (Pecs, Hungary) was named Mid-American Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending March 11. This marks the first time in her career she has collected the weekly award.
Biro completed a 2-1 week in singles play at the No. 6 position on the Eagles' West Coast trip. The Pecs, Hungary native upended Cal State Northridge's Jessica Warren (3-6, 6-0, 3-0, retired) and No. 56 UC Santa Barbara's Erica Cano (2-6, 7-6, 10-8). Her lone single's loss was to No. 41 Long Beach State's Anne-Sophie Willems (4-6, 3-6). In doubles action, she combined with Ankita Bhatia to go 0-3.
