The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team came up short, Feb. 3, at the Michigan/Illinois Challenge at Bowen Field House. The Eagles posted a team score of 191.775 to finish fourth. The University of Illinois-Chicago came out on top recording a 194.125 followed by Illinois State and Central Michigan earning team scores of 192.875 and 192.200, respectfully.

EMU and CMU were unable to clinch the win, giving ISU and UIC the challenge victory. The state of Michigan scored a combined 383.975, compared to an Illinois 387.000.

Freshman Jamie Radermacher (Tualatin, Or.-Tualatin) led the Eagles on the vault posting a season high 9.775. Fellow freshman Anna Willette (Pylesville, Md.-North Harford) and sophomore Miranda Jarvis (Westminster, Md.-Westminster) followed earning a 9.750 to tie for eighth, a career high for Jarvis.

Sophomore Ashley Quinton (Calgary, AB Canada-Bishop Menally) had a solid showing on the uneven parallel bars tallying a 9.700 grabbing a seventh place tie. Junior Camille Cicchini (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.-Royal Palm Beach Community) recorded a 9.675.

Freshman Paulina Miller (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada-Citadel High School) scored a team high 9.700 on the balance beam to help the Green and White to a 48.000 team score. Sophomore Shawna Ciaramella (Hamilton, Ont.-St. Mary CSS) tallied a 9.525 to help the Eagles.

Senior Stacie Wood (Brantford, Ont.-Brantford Collegiate Institute) earned a 9.725 for her performance on the floor exercise, good for a fifth place tie. Senior Amanda Fuller (Hamilton, Ont.-St Mary's) recorded a career high 9.700 finishing with a seventh place tie.

The Green and White continues its home stretch when it hosts Western Michigan University, Feb. 11. Competition is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
