EMU Baseball Celebrates Exciting Alumni Reunion Weekend

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball program celebrated the homecoming of many of its former players with the annual alumni baseball game and golf outing, Sept. 29-30.
The alumni game at Oestrike Stadium saw its largest turnout in recent years with 43 participants along their families for a grand total of more than 200 people. Participants included EMU baseball players who lettered from 1948-2012 including Ray Lezak ('48) and Collin Taylor ('12).
“I think it was an outstanding event and I want to thank our alumni who showed great support for our coaching staff, players and our program,” said Head Coach Jay Alexander. “We are appreciative of their continued efforts to help grow the EMU baseball program. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Brandon White for bringing all the alumni together for this event and Joe Skaisgir and his company, Cole Taylor Mortgage, for supplying t-shirts.”
More than 100 people participated in this year's golf outing, which was held at Fox Hills Golf Course in Plymouth, Mich. The team consisting of Jim Streeter, Mike Malach and Kevin Van Kamel won the outing by shooting 15-under par in the four-man scramble.
