Donald Scott Wins USA Junior Triple Jump Championship

Freshman two-sport athlete nears school record in the win
EUGENE, Ore. (EMUEagles.com) - First-year track and field athlete Donald Scott represented the Eastern Michigan Unviersity men's track and field team well this past weekend, winning the USA National Junior Triple Jump Championship, Saturday, June 25, in Eugene, Ore.
Scott, who is also a standout wide receiver for the Eagles' football squad, won the USATF National Junior Championship in the triple jump with a mark of 51-09.75, falling just short of the current school record of 52-02.00 set by Juris Vaskans in 1999, and bettering his previous personal-best jump of 50-08.25.
With the mark, Scott also qualified to compete on the USA National Junior Track and Field team which will compete in the Pan American Games Junior Championships which will take place July 22-24 in Miramar, Fla.
