Eagles in Action at Michigan Amateur

Three current and former student-athletes playing in annual tournament
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Several current and former Eastern Michigan University golfers are in action at the 100th Annual Michigan Amateur Championship, a five-day event that began Tuesday, June 21, at Boyne Highlands Resort's Heather Course in Harbor Springs.
Two current Eagles – Jared Dalga (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Forest Hills Central) and Casey Olsen (Okemos, Mich.-Okemos-Oakland University) – will be among the 168 amateur players competing for what is widely considered the “major” amateur golf tournament in the region, and is also one of the oldest and most prestigious sporting competitions in the state of Michigan.
EMU alum Marty Jeppesen (Saline, Mich-Saline) is also participating in the event.
Participants in the Michigan Amateur had to qualify at one of 14 sites held throughout the state. Two days of stroke play will determine the 64-player match play field. The player who has the lowest 36-hole total will have earned medalist honors.
