Gymnastics Inks Two in Early Signing Period

Khadijah Hudson and Kimberly Ebeyer signed to be Eagles in 2013

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)- Eastern Michigan University Head Gymnastics Coach Steve Wilce announced two recruits have signed a National Letter of Intent for the early signing period in November. Khadijah Hudson (Hebron, Ky.-Connor) and Kimberly Ebeyer (Greenwood, Ind.-Whiteland Community) will join the Eagles for the 2013 season. "We are extremely excited for both girls to join the program," Wilce said. "They are both going to make great contributions to our team."

Hudson, a level 10 gymnast from Perfection Gymnastics in Ohio is a two-time regional qualifier. She finished first on the vault at the Queen City Classic and on the beam at the Twisters Invite. Hudson took second place honors for her performance on the vault at the 2010 State Meet. In 2011, she finished first on the vault, bars and all-around at Courtney Kupets Invite and was named the Level 10 Ohio State Champion on every event and the all-around. "We feel Khadijah is going to be a great Mid-American Conference recruit, she swept her state meet on every event," stated Wilce. "She is going to be a great impact player."


Ebeyer, also a level 10 gymnast from Wright's Gymnastics in Indiana is a five-time regional qualifier. She placed second in the all-around at the 2010 Indiana State Meet and first on the floor at the 2010 Love or Money Invite. Ebeyer excells on and off the mats, being named to the Whiteland Community High School honor roll. She was also nominated for Team Sportsmanship Award. "Kimberly is a nice up-and-coming athlete with a lot of potential," Wilce stated. "She is going to make an excellent collegiate gymnast and we are thrilled for her to join us."

The gymnastics team opens action Jan. 20, when it travels to Kent, Ohio to take on the Golden Flashes of Kent State University.
