YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's golf program was well represented at the 93rd Michigan Open at Orchard Lake Country Club, June 14-17. The event was open to both amateur and professional golfers throughout the state of Michigan.

Korey Mahoney tied for fifth place with a 10-under 274 (70-64-70-70), while senior-to-be Nick Carbary (Kalamazoo, Mich.-Mattawan) was the third-highest finishing amateur in 19th with a 282 (70-69-68-75). Jordan Young tied for 23rd with a 283 (69-72-70-72) while Brent Goulding placed 73rd with a 299 (71-73-78-77).

Former Michigan State All-American Ryan Brehm won his second-straight Open title with a four-day total of 16-under par 268 (65-66-70-67). Brehm becomes the first player to win back-to-back Michigan Opens since Scott Hebert won four consecutive from 1999-2002. Brehm won $10,000 with the victory.

Brehm entered the final round in third place, two shots behind the lead, but his final round 4-under 67 vaulted him to the top of the leaderboard. For the week, Brehm totaled 21 birdies, played the par-4s at 11-under and the par-5's at 6-under.
