Head Coach Steve Wilce announces new gymnast

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University Head Gymnastics Coach Steve Wilce has announced Brittany Ekstedt (Alberta, Canada- Salsibury Composite) will be joining the team in January.

Ekstedt competed in the Arctic Winter Games in 2004 where she was a gold medalist. In 2005 she was a Team Gold member in the Alberta Winter Games. She was All-Around Champion for the P4 Novice Provincial in 2006. The newcomer received the Tula Ellard Award for Best Artistry-National Stream and was also Carol Lenz Memorial All-Around Champion in 2007. She was a four-time Canadian National Championship Alberta team member, where she competed for Team Silver, Gold and Bronze and two-time team captain in 2009 and 2010. Ekstedt was a Rushmoor Rose Bowl UK team member (Team Gold). She took home a Gold Medal for the uneven bars at the 2010 Canadian National Championship.

Ekstedt attended Salsibury Composite and is undecided on her major.
