In the early going it was all Schrock as she scored the Eagles' first nine points of the game to stake the home squad to a 9-6 lead at the 14:33 mark of the first half.

From that point the two teams would trade buckets over the next eight minutes before the Eagles began to gradually built its lead to eight, 28-20, on Redditt layup at the 4:11 mark.

EMU would head into halftime with a six-point lead, 32-26, with Schrock leading the way with 11 points. The Eagles connected on 14-of-33 shots from the field for 42.4 percent while Ball State was hitting 10-of-31 shots for 32.2 percent over the first 20 minutes.

James opened the second half with a long-range triple to boost EMU's lead to 35-26, and the Eastern offense would continue to add to that total, increasing the advantage to 12, 49-37, on a layup by Schrock with 12:25 left in the game.
