YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University head men's basketball coach Charles E. Ramsey has announced that the Eagles' 2009-10 basketball schedule will include 14 home games in addition to major road challenges at Ohio State, the Hispanic Fund Classic (HFC), and in the annual BracketBuster matchup.

“We believe that this very competitive 2009-10 basketball schedule will challenge our team to be ready to play every game,” fifth-year Head Coach Ramsey said of the latest schedule. “We have a good mix of home and away games to keep our players focused on the main goal of competing for a Mid-American Conference championship. We think our preseason schedule will prepare us for that tough challenge.”

Heading the list of home opponents in 2009-10 are James Madison, Canisius, Samford, Northwood, Chicago State, and Davenport along with Mid-American Conference rivals Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo, and Western Michigan .

The Eagles are slated to open the regular season, Nov. 14, at Oakland followed by a four-game road swing to the state of Missouri where they will play three times in the HFC Classic, hosted by Missouri State, Nov. 20-22, followed by a single game at Southeast Missouri State, Nov. 24. EMU will square off against The Citadel in the first game of the HFC Classic and will then take on Maryland-Eastern Shore and Missouri State in successive nights.

Eastern is slated to play at Ohio State, Dec. 5 and the Eagles will close out the 2009 non-conference road schedule at Georgia State, Dec. 19.
