YPSILANTI, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University football team will make four television appearances for the 2009 season, including two on the Big Ten Network.

The Mid-American Conference has announced that the EMU-Central Michigan game, set for Oct. 10, will be televised on ESPN Plus and GamePlan with a noon kickoff. The Eagles’ Nov. 5 date at Northern Illinois has been tentatively scheduled for an ESPNU slot with a 6:30 p.m. CT start time.

In addition to those games, EMU’s Sept. 12 game at Northwestern and its Sept. 19 date at Michigan have both been slated for noon kickoffs on the Big Ten Television Network.

EMU is slated to open the season Saturday, Sept. 5, at home against Army in a 7 p.m. tilt.

That home opener is followed by the two straight Big Ten games, at Northwestern and Michigan. The Eagles have an open date Saturday, Sept. 26, before opening the MAC season at home, Saturday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. against Temple in the annual Homecoming game followed by the Oct. 10 league road tilt at CMU.

The Eagles then return for back-to-back Rynearson Stadium games against Kent State, Oct. 17, in a 4 p.m. Band Day game, and versus Ball State on Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. in a Kick and Dig Pink breast cancer awareness contest held in conjunction with an EMU-Buffalo women’s volleyball match at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.

Eastern then heads out of MAC action for an Oct. 31 battle at the University of Arkansas. From there the Eagles travel to DeKalb, Ill. for the ESPNU game at Northern Illinois, Nov. 5, with the last home contest of the year set for Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. against Western Michigan. The 2009 regular season ends with two consecutive road tilts, at Toledo, Nov. 20, and at Akron, Nov. 27.
