Dear Eagle Nation,

Ron English

Coach Ron English

Now that the season is over, I wanted to take a minute to thank you for your support this year. While our win-loss record was not what we envisioned when the season began, we are still winners on several levels.

We have changed the culture here in many ways. The overall quality of the program has improved, and our commitment to excellence and doing things the proper way has begun to take hold. Our student-athletes have learned to embrace the process. Our coaching staff continues to use its extensive background to train our student-athletes. We never stopped teaching and coaching, and did not get distracted when the results did not go our way. Our staff is a foundation to Eastern Michigan's success for years to come.

The success of our recruiting efforts is also a credit to your support. During several of our games, and particularly the Western Michigan game, we had prospective student-athletes on campus, and your enthusiasm and excitement throughout the game created an atmosphere that they really enjoyed.

We are optimistic, and eager for workouts to begin in January. We return a large contingent of players including nine freshmen who started multiple games this past season, along with several players who did not play due to injury.

This is how winning programs are built, and I am convinced we have a winner here at Eastern. I look forward to working hard this off-season to help our student-athletes become better. Better academically. Better on the field. Better people overall.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Ron English
