Women's Cross Country Concludes Action at Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women’s cross country team wrapped up action Saturday afternoon, Oct. 17, at the Pre-Nationals Invitational in Terra Haute, Ind., as the Eagles placed 31st as team in the white division.

 

True freshman and top runner Courtney Calka (Livonia, Mich.-Stevenson) was the lone Eagle harrier to place in the top 100, as Calka placed 68th overall with a time of 21:47.5.  

 

Finishing behind Calka was sophomore captain Rachel Hollinger Janzen (Goshen, Ind.-Goshen), who finished with a time of 22:55.8.

 

Junior Beverly Elcock (Fort Wayne, Ind.-Northrop) and freshman Tiffany Kincaid (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston) were the next two EMU runners to cross the finish line, as they placed 189th and 203rd, respectively. Elock finished with a time of 23:12.5, while Kincaid finished the race with a time of 23:22.2.

 

Sophomore Natalie Webb (Allen Park, Mich.-Woodhaven) took 204th place with a time of 23:22.8.

 

Several EMU runners also competed in the Falcon Invitational this afternoon in Bowling Green, Ohio. Click here for results.

 

The Eagles are back in action next week when they host the EMU Fall Classic Friday, Oct. 23, in Dexter, Mich. The race is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
