Men's Swimming Captures 11th Consecutive Perfect MAC Season

YPSILANTI, Mich.- The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team made it 53 in a row, defeating the Miami University RedHawks, 179-119, Saturday, Jan. 31 at Jones Natatorium. The victory marked the 53rd consecutive Mid-American Conference dual meet win for the Eagles, as well as their 11th consecutive perfect conference season.

Saturday's meet also marked Senior Day for EMU, as the senior class was honored for before the meet.

The 400 medley relay team started the meet off with a win for the Green and White, touching the wall in 3:25.58. Senior Dan Kish (Trenton, Mich.-Trenton) then won the 200 free before a trio of Eagles, led by Don Ellison (King City, Ont.-King City Secondary), swept the 100 breaststroke. Ryan Fulkerson (South Lyon, Mich.-South Lyon) and Connor Christie (Saline, Mich.-Saline) went 1-2 in the 200 fly before Derick Roe (Sidney, Ohio-Sidney) took home the 50 free.

Roe and fellow senior Ethan Crabtree (Wooster, Ohio-Wooster) swept the 100 free with Crabtree and Ryan Bordine (Milan, Mich.-Milan) doing the same in the 200 back. Scott Murphy (Houston, Texas-Cypress), Adam Wohl (Sandusky, Ohio-Perkins) and Sam Dolato (Howell, Mich.-Howell) swept the 200 breaststroke on the afternoon for EMU. Kish and Fulkerson picked up their second wins of the meet in the 500 free and 100 fly, respectively. Ellison also picked up another individual victory, winning the 200 IM by almost three seconds.

Next up for the Eagles is the MAC Championship meet, set for Feb. 19-21 in Nashville, Tenn.
