Sea Ray Relay Results ,Spartan Invitational Results
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Eastern Michigan University men's outdoor track and field participated in two separate meets this weekend, sending a group to the Sea Ray Relays (Wednesday-Saturday) and another to the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. Senior Adam Kring (Jeddo, Mich.-Port Huron Northern) notched the lone win of the day for the Eagles, jumping 6-feet-8.75 inches in the high jump at Sea Ray.
Sophomore Kyle Holmes (Detroit, Mich.-Country Day) posted the top performance for the Eagles at the Spartan Invitational, leaping 46-feet-9 inches for a second place finish in the triple jump.
Other top-five finishers for the Eagles at the Sea Ray Relays included senior Matt Pinter (Big Rapids, Mich.-Big Rapids), who placed fourth in the discus (162-feet-2 inches), and senior Dave Adamek (Ridgeway, ONT-Ridgeway Crystal Beach), who took fourth in the shot put (56-feet-1.75 inches).
At the Spartan Invitational, Gerald Gersham placed fourth in the shot put (46-feet-6.75 inches). In the 100-meters, freshman Austin Atkinson (Ridgeway, ONT-Ridgeway Crystal Beach), and Mike Richardson placed fourth (:11.05) and fifth (:11.06), respectively. Atkinson also turned in a fifth place finish in the 200-meters with a time of :22.84.
Both meets were non-scoring events.
The Eagles will return home next Saturday, Apr. 21, when they host the EMU Twilight at the Olds/Marshall Track (Rynearson Stadium). The meet will be an all day event.
