Roe Named Swimmer of the Week
Sophomore earns first weekly award

CLEVELAND, Ohio-- Eastern Michigan University sophomore Derrick Roe (Sidney, Ohio-Sidney) was named Mid-American Conference Male Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Oct. 22, the conference office announced today (Oct. 25). The weekly award is the first for Roe.

Roe paced the Eagles with second place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (21.48) and 100-yard freestyle (47.12), while anchoring the winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:21.01) in EMU's season opener against Michigan.

The Eagles (0-1, 0-0 MAC) are in action again Oct. 27, when they host Ohio University for a MAC dual meet at Jones Natatorium at 5 p.m.
