The Eastern Michigan University football team will make four television appearances for the 2009 season, including two on the Big Ten Network. EMU is slated to open the season Saturday, Sept. 5, at home against Army in a 7 p.m. tilt.

The sixth annual E-Gridiron Group Golf Outing in support of Eastern Michigan University Football on Monday, June 15, at Eagle Crest Golf Course in Ypsilanti has been sold out. Tickets for the post-round reception and dinner, which starts at approximately 3 p.m., are still available for sale at $25 each. The sixth annual E-Gridiron Group Golf Outing in support of EMU Football is set for Monday, June 15, at Eagle Crest Golf Course in Ypsilanti. The cost for this year's EGG Golf Outing is $160 for an individual golfer and $500 per foursome (a savings of $140).

Head football coach Ron English and his entire coaching staff will be on hand for EMU Football 101: A Skills Clinic for Women to be held Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Rynearson Stadium. The cost of the clinic is $30 ($15 for students) and includes instruction on specific football skills and strategy for women to understand the game of football from the inside.

Jamie Manor, a two-year letterman for the Eastern Michigan University football team from 2002-03, was killed in a two-car accident here Thursday morning, May 7, while responding to a domestic violence call in western Las Vegas as an officer with the Las Vegas Police Department. He was 28 years old. He is survived by his mother, Linda, his daughter, Jayla, five brothers and six sisters. His father, Willie, preceded him in death.

T.J. Lang, a starting offensive tackle for the Eastern Michigan University football team in 36 straight games over the past three seasons, was selected in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers Sunday, April 26, here in the draft selection held in Radio City Music Hall. Lang was the 109th player chosen in the two-day draft.

The Eastern Michigan University football team put a stamp on its spring season with the annual spring game, played in drizzly weather at Rynearson Stadium, Sunday, April 19. Despite the less than perfect conditions, there were about 1,000 fans in attendance to see first-year head coach Ron English and the Eagles take the field.
